Photo Planning

In the world of rock music, most bands are made up on one type of gender, there is a very few bands that consist of the two different genders (male and female).  So i will either need to make a band by asking a group of people ( around 3 or 4) to look like a band. They will dress up in dark rock clothes, they will also have dark make up. or I will ask my friend Gra, who listens to rock music and he has  look of a rocker.

Girl band:Their hair will be back brushed, to make it look a bit frizzy, this is also because female rock artists often have large hair styles. Fort shorter haired girls, the hair will be gelled (slicked back, or to the side). These hair styles will be inspired by P!NK.

Boy Band: There air can be gelled and slicked, Most male rock bands have there hair really messy and have fringes that cover most of there face. The band will mainly consists of the hair color brown, brunette and black. This is because the dark colors help reinforce the look of rock band, they also rienforce the colors that would be assoicated with rock.

Solo Artists. A solo artist will need to have a symbolic prop to allow them to appear as someone from the genre of rock. Hair and makeup will represent the type of music genre I am going for. A symbolic prop could be a guitar or base guitar, a musical instrument that would usually be played in a rock band.

A solo artist will be mainly male's because in the genre rock, they are the dominant gender. So most readers will be males. Also the fact of having a male artist on the cover of the magazine, will bring in female readers. It doesn't matter what type of music genre a girl is into, but they will have celebrity crush on a male artist.

The photo will be taken against a yellow wall, the brightness of the yellow contrasts and challenges the dark colour of rock, but the Colour of the guitar matches the yellow wall, so it is able to link in with the genre. Also the prop brings out the colour most, it also takes most of the attention, because the prop is significant.

Examples of front cover rock magazines.
